[REVIEW] Unlimited WiFi in South Korea by Travel Recommends

I have travelled to South Korea for a few times, and their wifi have never failed to impress me. If you don't have a wifi device with you when you travel to Korea, you can always get a Korean SIM card and subscribe for data. You can also travel without the SIM card, by connecting to their free wifi on the street and subway stations. However, in my opinion, it can be very limited especially if you are moving constantly. Relying solely on the free wifi on the streets can be troublesome. That is why I have always pre-book my wifi device online and pick it up at Incheon Airport.

The device is portable, almost the size of a smartphone. It can be charged and connect up to 5-10 devices (smartphone, ipad, laptop etc). It is travel friendly and very convenient to use. Some called it pocket wifi, some called it wifi egg.

I'm sure most frequent travellers are familiar with different telecommunication companies in Korea that offers rental of wifi device, such as Olleh KT, SK, pocket wifi, LG U+ etc. I personally opted for Olleh KT every time I need one because they have wide coverage and you can always look out for discount coupons when you want to book it online. However, the con of it is the huge sum of deposit that you have to pay when redeeming your device at the airport. The deposit amount is 200,000won (around RM770). You can get the deposit back when you return you wifi, which will probably be the last day of your trip when you head back to Incheon airport for your departure back home. This means that you won't be able to use that 200,000won throughout the trip and you have to fork our extra 200,000won for the deposit sum that you won't be able to spend.

Good news is that you can now rent the wifi device from Travel Recommends. They are located in KLIA2's arrival hall, inside Tune store. You can redeem it before your flight and use it as soon as you touch down in Korea. Other than Korea, you can also rent it for travel to Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia, USA, Canada, Cambodia, Europe, Macau and India. How cool is that? If you are travelling to a few countries, they have different package to cater your needs too!

I have used the wifi device by Travel Recommends throughout my recent trip to South Korea and i was impressed by the device. They are offering the device at a lower rate compared to the one I used to rent in Korea. It costed 5,500won per day (around RM 21) but you can rent it from Travel Recommends for RM 15 per day!

You see how tiny it is compare to my large hands? haha

Travel Recommends needs no deposit sum. The wifi package also comes with a USB cable and universal adaptor. You can also rent a powerbank from them with extra charges.

At first I was worried about how good the connection will be because I have never used the device before. But I am glad I gave this a try! The connection was great even under subway tunnels and by the river. The battery also lasted longer than I thought and it can be recharge quickly. The wifi signal is always strong and it connects immediately.

Constantly in contact with friends and family while shopping

Not to mention, the device is around the size of a credit card and lighter than a a smartphone! It is thin and easy to carry around. You can put it in your purse, your pocket,  your bag, anywhere!

Travel Recommends have a counter in KLIA2's arrival hall, inside Tune store. You can pick it up before your flight within a minute and your can drop it in the drop box when you return it. Check out the simple step by step tutorial on how to rent it below!

[REVIEW] April Skin Magic Stone, Magic Snow Cream and Magic Snow Cushion

Not long ago, I've purchase the hottest selling cosmetic brand in Korea, April Skin. The reviews posted online by users were fantastically good so I thought I shall try it out too! April Skin's well-known item is the Magic Stone 100% natural cleansing soap. There are two types of Magic Stone, one is the Original and one is the Black version (new version).

Top left (clockwise): Magic Stone Original, Magic Stone Black, Magic Snow Cushion and Magic Snow Cream

Unboxed :)

I've bought both version of Magic Stone, Magic Snow Cream and also Magic Snow Cushion (No. 22 Pink Beige). April Skin has now come out with the latest shade of Magic Snow Cushion (No. 23 Natural Beige).

[REVIEW]

1. Magic Stone Original

I am using the Magic Stone Original to remove my make up as it is meant to remove heavy make up. The deep cleansing of the product is good and it does not irritates my skin.

First, rinse the soap with water and make lots of foam out of the soap. Then massage the foam on your face and gently smooth the foam around your face and leave it for a good 30 seconds before rinsing it off with water.

The soap really did a good job in cleansing face with make up on it. My skin felt so deeply cleansed after using the soap. If you have oily skin, it is okay to wash your face using it day and night. For dry skin, I would recommend you to use it either in the morning or at night, once a day.

My skin really did felt soft right after using the soap. Leaving the foam for 30 seconds helps the skin to absorb the various active components of the soap. People with sensitive skin find it comfortable to use too!

2. Magic Stone Black

The Magic Stone Black soap contains higher percentage of charcoal in it, hence the colour. The charcoal helps to intensify the whitening of skin. I am using both Original and Black in alternative days. It is best to use it for skin detox and to remove light make up. I use this in the morning more often as it is more like a second step cleansing, after the Magic Stone Original.

Since the cleansing product comes in a soap form, it can be use for a longer time compared to liquid form. It is the size of your palm or bigger. It can be used for a really long time.

It is true when people say you will not know how good a product is unless you try it yourself. Magic Stone cleansing soap will not be a hot item in Korea for no reason!

3. Magic Snow Cream

This cream is NOT a cleansing product. It is meant to apply it on the face and leave it overnight or to use it as a base for make up. The cream instantly whiten and brighten your face once you apply. The only disappointing point of the product for me is that, it is hard to whiten your face evenly because it ends up like patches of white instead of an even whitening effect (for me, sadly).

So, I don't use it as a base for my foundation but I do apply it before I sleep at night. Although the cream is in a liquid form, it is not really runny. Once applied on skin, you will not feel any sticky liquid on your face or makes the face oily. It also moisturize the skin.

However,if your skin is more toned, it is not advisable for you to use it as a foundation base for make up because it does not comes in different shade where you can choose.

4. Magic Snow Cushion (No. 22 Pink Beige)

Out of the 4 products, I personally loooove this one the most. The Magic Snow Cushion comes with a cushion puff like any other cushion BB cream products. What impresses me the most is how long lasting the cream is on my face and it acts like a concealer too! I don't even have to use any concealer after applying Magic Snow Cushion. It perfectly covers my skin and it doesn't feel oily at all.

I would say its coverage is so much better than a normal BB Cream as they normally wears off throughout the day and you will have to re-apply it for a few times in a day. The coverage of blemishes is way better than I have imagined.

The only sad thing is that I've bought a shade that is perhaps, too fair for me. There were only 2 choices of shade (No.21 Light Beige and No.22 Pink Beige) that April Skin came out with and I've bought the darker shade (No.22 Pink Beige). But still, it was too fair for me. Maybe that is why April Skin have recently came out with its latest shade, No. 23 Natural Beige. I am definitely buying that shade.
